'Pictorial
alliances' is the expression used by Salvatore Fiume to describe
a group of paintings "for four hands" he carried out between
1973 and 1989 with eight younger Italian artists, including
his daughter Laura. Painting on some of their works whose
general arrangement he had previously inspired and agreed
with each artist, Fiume adapted his own style to extremely
different situations, both tonal and formal.
