Commissioned in 1949 by the industrialist Bruno Buitoni Sr. from Perugia, the ten paintings from this cycle completed in 1952 narrate in15th century style "adventures, misadventures and glories" of ancient Perugia. In 1998 the entire cycle was donated by the Buitoni family to the Umbria Region. It is now in the prestigious Palazzo Donini building and is open to the public.
