THE BALINESE CYCLE

Since 1971

In 1971 Fiume travelled to the Island of Bali where he was struck by the beauty of women and by the quality of the naïve paintings of local artists. A series of woks originated from that journey, which Fiume carried out by painting upon canvases of the Balinese painters, which he had previously purchased. He did that not in disrespect for those artists but rather to pay tribute to their painting, by incorporating it in his own, as wall as to the Balinese beauties.
