A major retrospective at the Auditorium-Parco della Musica in Rome ten years after Salvatore Fiume’s death presented 86 works executed by him between the late 1930s and 1992. Paintings, drawings, etchings, illustrations and sculptures offered the opportunity to highlight and explore some of Fiume’s most original ideas such as his Cities of Statues and Islands of Statues(1947 – 1996), the Hypotheses(1983 – 1989), and the sculptures called Chance Archaeological Encounters and Museum Reconstructions (1992 – 1994). The catalogue was by Giovanni Faccenda.
